As part of the “Youth Make Peace” Project, Shams Humanitarian Organization, in partnership with the Women Empowerment Organization and with the support of Search for Common Ground, conducted a two-day training workshop on August 5–6, with the participation of 20 young male and female community activists.
The workshop aimed to raise youth awareness on the concepts of violence prevention and peacebuilding through interactive sessions rich in knowledge and experience. The first day covered the types, causes, and negative impacts of violence, in addition to social cohesion and community leadership and the role of youth in strengthening them.
The second day focused on advocacy and designing youth initiatives, along with community engagement tools, and included training on resource and volunteer management to empower youth to lead and implement impactful and sustainable initiatives within their communities.
