The Shams Al-Anbar Organization for Women and Children participated in a dialogue session on supporting and empowering women in the city of Fallujah. The session was held in Fallujah on October 28, 2024, under the auspices of the Rehab Al-Khair Organization, in partnership with CARE International Iraq. A number of government department directors and representatives from the provincial council were in attendance, as well as representatives from the Department of Health, the Department of Social Welfare, and activists from the province. The needs of women and the importance of supporting and empowering them in society were discussed. The most prominent recommendations and discussions reached included the formation of a joint committee of department directors present to follow up on women’s issues and work to provide them with the necessary support. The committee agreed that the Department of Social Welfare would directly facilitate the procedures for applications submitted by needy women to meet their needs quickly and effectively. The committee also agreed that treatment fees for needy women would be waived. Hospital representatives agreed to waive medical fees for needy women to ease their financial burdens and provide them with the necessary healthcare. Opening a hotline with National Security: It was agreed that National Security would allocate a hotline for women to file complaints in the event they are subjected to any type of extortion, which would provide A safe and supportive environment for them. These initiatives aim to improve the conditions of women in society, provide them with social and health support, and enhance their role in the local community.
