Shams Al-Insaniya Organization for Women and Child Staff Code of Conduct
Introduction:
Shams Al-Insaniya Organization for Women and
Child – SHAO is an Iraqi humanitarian, non-governmental, and non-profit
organization. It was established on September 5, 2019, and officially
registered with the Non-Governmental Organizations Directorate of the General
Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers on September 27, 2022,
under registration number 1OK2209064.
The organization aims to improve the quality
of life for women and children in IRAQ by providing support
in social and economic development, promoting human rights, and fostering peacebuilding.
The organization seeks to empower marginalized groups and enhance partnerships
between civil society and local authorities to achieve sustainable development.
The organization’s mission is to empower women
and children in IRAQ through programs and initiatives that
enhance their economic and social capacities, protect their rights, and
contribute to building safe and stable communities. The organization works on
addressing social and economic challenges faced by these groups, with a focus
on achieving social justice and gender equality.
Objectives:
- Ensure a
safe and respectful work environment for all employees and beneficiaries.
- Promote
integrity and transparency in all activities.
- Protect and
support women’s and children’s rights in a responsible and ethical manner.
1. Respect for Human Dignity
I commit to respecting the rights and dignity
of all individuals without discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or
any other differences. This includes avoiding any language or behavior that may
be considered offensive or biased and promoting inclusivity and equality as
fundamental principles of my mission. Any form of discrimination or harassment,
whether physical or verbal, is strictly prohibited to ensure a respectful
environment for all.
2. Integrity and Transparency
Integrity and transparency are core values in
the organization’s work. I pledge to carry out activities and initiatives with
the highest standards of responsibility and integrity, including managing
financial and human resources efficiently and informing stakeholders about
their use. I will disclose any potential conflicts of interest, such as
personal or professional relationships that may influence decisions.
Additionally, I will refrain from any form of corruption, such as accepting
bribes or misusing the organization’s funds.
3. Protection of Women and Children
Abuse is comprehensively defined to ensure
that no violations of beneficiaries’ rights occur. To achieve this, the
organization adopts clear policies for child protection and the prevention of
exploitation while providing necessary training for staff to ensure they
understand and effectively implement these policies. The organization
encourages reporting any violations while ensuring complete confidentiality and
protecting whistleblowers from retaliation.
I pledge to protect women and children from
any form of abuse, whether physical, psychological, or emotional, and to report
any violations or mistreatment.
4. Teamwork and Mutual Respect
I commit to cooperation and teamwork to
achieve shared goals. I will maintain mutual respect with all members, express
opinions in a constructive and professional manner, and encourage avoiding
personal conflicts. If conflicts arise, I will handle them in a manner that
seeks constructive solutions to strengthen collaboration and harmony within the
team.
5. Confidentiality and Information
Protection
The organization’s employees are committed to protecting personal data and sensitive information of beneficiaries and staff. Secure systems will be used to store data, ensuring access only for authorized personnel. The use of this information for personal or unethical purposes, such as sharing it with external parties without explicit consent, is strictly prohibited.
6. Compliance with Laws
All organization employees are required to
comply with all local and international laws and regulations relevant to their
work. This includes obtaining necessary licenses and permits and ensuring that
all activities adhere to applicable laws. They are strictly prohibited from
engaging in any activity that could harm the organization’s reputation or
expose it to legal liability, such as involvement in illegal activities or
violations of regulatory rules.
7. Reporting Violations
All employees are required to report any
violations of the Code of Conduct to their direct supervisor. Safe and
confidential reporting channels are provided to ensure that everyone feels
secure when submitting reports. All complaints will be handled with seriousness
and complete confidentiality, ensuring fair and transparent investigations to
resolve issues appropriately and protect the rights of all parties involved.
8. Signature and Commitment
All members, whether employees or volunteers,
are required to sign this policy as proof of their commitment. A signed copy
will be kept in the organization’s official records to ensure ongoing
compliance.
