As part of the “Bridges of Hope”-program, implemented by Shams Al-Insaniya Organization for Women and Children in Salah Al-Din Governorate, in cooperation with the Committee for Countering Violent Extremism and with support from German Development Cooperation, the organization conducted field visits to several boys’ and girls’ primary and secondary schools in Tikrit District.
During the visits, dialogue sessions were held with educational staff to discuss the concept and objectives of the project, emphasizing the role of educational institutions in promoting peace, social cohesion, and community resilience.
The organization also distributed the “Bridges of Hope” magazine, which includes:
• An overview of the project
• Stories of resilience and perseverance
• Community issues and insights
• Humanitarian messages promoting love, tolerance, and rejection of violence and hatred
• Guidance on how to protect ourselves from extremism
These activities reflect the organization’s belief in schools as key partners in raising awareness and nurturing hope
