Climate change and its environmental, social, and economic impacts

Shams Al-insaniya Organization for Women and Children participated in a capacity-building training on climate change for civil society organizations and local actors, organized by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Ramadi.
The training aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the environmental, social, and economic impacts of climate change, and to empower local organizations to develop effective strategies and action plans to address climate challenges in Anbar Governorate and surrounding areas.
The program included both theoretical and practical sessions on the concept, causes, and consequences of climate change, as well as adaptation and mitigation mechanisms. It also highlighted the vital role of civil society organizations in raising environmental awareness and implementing sustainable initiatives. Furthermore, participants discussed local experiences in combating desertification, water scarcity, and the degradation of agricultural lands.
