Reducing Violence Extremism and the Role of Leadership and Community Participation


Shams Al-Insaniya Organization for Women and Child- SHAO, in cooperation with the PVE Sub-Committee in Salah al-Din Governorate, and funded by German Cooperation (GIZ), implemented a training workshop titled “Reducing Violence Extremism and the Role of Leadership and Community Participation in Countering It” on 15–17 September 2025 🕊️

🎯 Training Objective:
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the root causes of violence extremism and approaches to prevent it, while developing leadership and active community participation skills to build safe and cohesive communities.
The training targeted 30 participants (young men and women) and PVE Sub-Committee in Salah al-Din, focusing on:
💡 Developing leadership skills
🕊️ Promoting the principles of preventing violent extremism
🤝 Supporting communication, community representation, and civic participation
This initiative comes within the framework of enhancing community leadership and building an aware generation that contributes to promoting a
culture of peace and tolerance.
