Shams Al-Anbar Organization for Women and Children, in partnership with Save the Children International, is pleased to announce the launch of a project entitled “Promoting the Rights of Children with Disabilities and Integrating them into Basic Education in Anbar Governorate.”
The project aims to promote the rights of children with disabilities and ensure their full inclusion in basic education through awareness-raising, training, and educational activities targeting the local community, families, and decision-makers in Anbar Governorate. The project aims to provide an inclusive educational environment that supports the rights of children with disabilities and effectively integrates them into society.
Main activities include training workshops for volunteers to train volunteer teams to implement awareness-raising initiatives in Ramadi, Fallujah, Hit, and Habbaniyah. Legal awareness sessions will also be organized for families on their children’s rights under the Disability Care Law, in addition to dialogue sessions with decision-makers to discuss challenges and develop supportive strategies. The project will also include social media campaigns to spread awareness on a broad scale.
The project’s primary objectives are to increase community awareness of the rights of children with disabilities and the importance of their education, empower families and provide them with the necessary legal information and support, and enhance cooperation between government agencies and institutions to provide an inclusive and supportive educational environment. The target audience includes families of children with disabilities, the local community in Anbar, decision-makers and educational institutions, in addition to youth volunteer teams.
